FIREWOOD

Please note that there will be no firewood sales until well into March. There is some still in the bins for you to come in with your small trailer or ute, but we are not taking orders for truckloads until things start looking up for a healthy supply.

Thanks.

Stoodley

We now have Stoodley in stock!

I call it rock, it’s sold as ‘pebble’ – either way, it is a beautiful dusky pink rock and will elegantly enhance your gardens.

Dulverton Organic Compost

We are expecting a delivery of Dulverton compost on Thursday 10th December! This is exciting news as there are several people who have been asking about it and anticipating its arrival.

Here is their blurb on the compost which explains how the compost is produced:

“Dulverton Organic Compost is made to a scientifically calculated formula, using only quality organic material from suppliers across Tasmania. To ensure suitability, nutrient and element analyses are taken of the organic inputs prior to being used.

Ingredients include garden green waste, supermarket organic waste, woodchips, by-products from the processing of animals, fish, dairy and vegetables, animal straw and manure, and biosolids.

This diverse mix of ingredients creates a nutrient-rich final product, screened to less than 16mm particle size, which resembles rich dark soil with a dry weight of approximately 700kg/m³.”

more detail:

  • 16-week, hot composting process

After a 3 year break, Laurie and Cynthia will be returning to the yard from 1 October 2020. We look forward to being re-acquainted with previous customers and friends once again. Feel free to drop in for a chat or even a cuppa if you have time.

You’ll also see our good neighbour and friend Malcolm McIver about as he helps us at the yard and with deliveries – we are grateful for his time and efforts.

Here’s an early photo of when we took over the yard from Steve Lanham in late 2013. The shack with Sid sitting on the verandah.

We no longer have the splitter, so we will no longer be cutting our own wood. But rest assured, we will be doing our best to ensure we have a good supply of split wood.

As it’s now the end of our cold winter, you might be keen to store up your wood for next year, so get in early. Wood is becoming relatively difficult to obtain and finding people who can supply it more and more difficult. We are not expecting to have large supplies of dry firewood available in the near future, so think a year ahead and store up for next year with what is available.
